Ingredients
- Ingredients
- Gin
- Soda water
- Lemon
- Cane sugar syrup
- Ice cubes
- Fresh green leaves (optional, for garnish)
- Tools
- Manual juicer
- Cocktail shaker (optional)
Steps
- Preparing the lemon
- Cut the lemon in half (the knife perpendicular to the line from tip to tip), and cut one slice from one half to set aside
- Cut the lemon in half again and press the 4 lemon wedges with the juicer, collecting the juice in a container
- Mixing (without a shaker)
- Choose a glass; a clear glass of 350-400 ml is recommended
- Put 100 g of ice in the bottom of the glass
- Pour in 30-40 ml gin
- Pour in 20 ml lemon juice (add more or all of it if you like it sour)
- Pour in 30-40 g cane sugar syrup
- Stir well with a spoon
- Place the lemon slice you set aside
- Slowly pour soda water down the side of the glass until full (don't pour onto the ice, to avoid losing fizz)
- Gently lift the spoon up and down to mix (don't stir in circles, to avoid losing fizz)
- Place the garnish leaves on the surface (optional)
- If you have a shaker, replace steps 2-6 above with the following
- Put the ice, gin, lemon juice and cane sugar syrup in the shaker and shake well
- Pour the well-shaken mix into the glass (if the ice is too crushed, strain it out and add fresh ice to the glass)
